Hasard Lee : The Art of Clear Thinking
Problem? Before you do anything, assess the problem - step 1. That's why they still have the wind-up clock on modern fighters - it's to remind you of step 1. It's instinctive to dive in and try to "fix."
Five stars and I've just gotten started. Where have you been all my life? 😊
Multitasking *IS* possible - but not the kind you're thinking. You can do algebra AND scratch your back. What you CAN'T do is two cognitively demanding tasks at the same time.😊
An in-depth analysis of the Air France 447 tragedy of May 2009. My questions:
- If the plane nose-up when it stalled, what must the passengers have been going through in their minds?
- If it was nose-up, how could people not KNOW that it was nose-up? Gravity still works, ja? Even at 20000 feet up there?
- If the plane was nose-up, how could the captain WALK to the cockpit after being roused from sleep? He'd have to CLIMB his way up there, ja?
- Why would this experienced captain have taken his sleep break BEFORE they got through the equatorial convergence zone where you have these nasty storms even at 35000 feet?
